As you might already know, the annual Post-Tribune Awards Tournament, the only true newspaper invitational bowling event in which you control your own qualification, will be held at Stardust III in Dyer next month. Qualifying will be on Saturday, May 23 (women at 10 a.m., men at 2 p.m.) with the stepladder finals (top five) on Sunday, May 24 at 11 a.m. for both men and women.
I?always hope for a big turnout from the host center’s bowlers, so that’s why I’m asking you directly to come out and bowl against the best in the region.
Any woman rolling a 600 series or higher is invited with different levels of entry fee ($20 for 600-650, $10 for 650-699, $5 for 700 series, Queens of the Week and past champions are free). Any man rolling a 300 or a series of 780 or higher is qualified ($20 for 300 games, $10 for 780-799, $5 for 800 series, Kings of the Weeks and past champions are free).
For the women who don’t think they can hang with the top bowlers in the area, there are separate handicap division for an extra $5. For men, there will be an extra senior division (age 50-and-over) for $5 extra.
The P-T?Tourneys have grown exponentially in popularity in recent years and hopefully you can help increase that popularity even more.

>From the BPAA: Financial conditions are forcing Cincinnati's Western Bowl to close its doors May 1. Russ Hoinke, whose family owns the 68-lane West Side landmark says he is currently trying to find a center interested in hosting the internationally-popular Hoinke Classic. Family patriarch Ervin Hoinke stated the tournament in 1943 before moving it to Western Bowl in 1962.
